The Situation
An Alpine Vista homeowner woke up to a large water stain on the kitchen ceiling, with water dripping onto an upper cabinet. An HVAC failure caused the leak. The homeowner had been told that all of the kitchen cabinets would need to be replaced.
Another company had already done the initial mitigation. We were called in to complete the rebuild. The affected materials were drywall, insulation and cabinetry, in a kitchen of 120 square feet.
What We Did
Our technicians Dale and TJ did the rebuild over 2 days. We refinished the cabinet face and built a new cabinet box, then reinstalled the original cabinets, so the kitchen did not need a full cabinet replacement. We also replaced the insulation and drywall, and textured and painted the kitchen ceiling.
Day 1: framing, drywall, texture and the cabinet face.
Day 2: primer, paint, and reinstalling the cabinet. Job complete.
The Result
The kitchen was rebuilt in 2 days, with the original cabinets back in place. We estimate the homeowner saved about $5,600 compared with replacing all of the cabinets. The homeowner paid directly, without an insurance claim.
A leak from a ceiling or an appliance can look like a bigger job than it is. When you call us, we look at what can be repaired before we recommend replacing it. Our reconstruction services team handles rebuilds like this one, and our water damage restoration crews handle the water.
Customer Review
"Quick Restore was amazing at every step of the process. Called on a Saturday and they immediately responded even though he was at his kids baseball game. They did exemplary work and informed me of each step. … Dale and TJ were so helpful and assured me all during the process."
